COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of current oral and maxillofacial surgery concepts and be able to apply these concepts in the planning and management of their patients.
COURSE OUTLINE
This course will cover updates within the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Topics include:
- Local anaesthesia
- Oral anticoagulants
- Oral biphosphonates
- Systemic corticosteroids
- Oral pathology
- Temporomandibular joint disorders
- Cone beam computed tomography
- 3D implant planning

James Brady, Ben Davis, Jean-Charles Doucet, Curtis Gregoire and Chad Robertson are fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are faculty members in the division of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Dalhousie University. They are also active staff members at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and IWK Health Centre, where they provide a wide scope of practice, including dentoalveolar, implants, trauma, orthognathic, pathology, TMJ and cleft/craniofacial surgery.
