University OMF offers oral and maxillofacial surgery to residents of Nova Scotia and throughout Atlantic Canada. From our offices at the VG Hospital in downtown Halifax, we offer a wide range of OMF services to treat diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face and jaws.

Meet the team
What we do
The term Oral and Maxillofacial refers to the area of the mouth, head, neck and face. Our specialty is dealing with diseases, injuries and defects in this area. As surgeons, we usually deal with issues that are more advanced or complex for a traditional dentist, or procedures that carry a higher level of risk.
We provide OMF services to patients through referrals from dentists and other health professionals, as well as on demand in the case of accidents and injuries. As the OMF specialists at the VG hospital in downtown Halifax, we are the team that is called in for critical situations.
Our team of surgeons also serve as the faculty for the OMF program in the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University. Along with our commitment to ongoing education for dentists and other medical professionals, we are committed to serving and improving the delivery of OMF services. We are active participants in various research projects, and are always pushing forward the boundaries of the OMF body of knowledge.
